Alexandra Campbell
As a therapist with lived experience of neurodivergence, I specialize in supporting the neurodiverse community with sensory processing challenges, executive function difficulties, neurodivergent burnout, and more. Neurodiversity refers to the natural variation in brain functioning resulting from sensory, motor, social, cognitive, or neurological differences in brain development. Neurodiverse individuals, also known as neurodivergent individuals, include experiences of autism, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), AuDHD (autism and ADHD), Tourette’s disorder, and learning disorders like dyslexia, dyscalculia, etc.
Neurodivergent clients face higher risks of mental health challenges and often find it harder to access care that is responsive and informed of their brain differences. I am passionate about helping the neurodiverse community feel supported, truly heard, and cared for with respect and humility.
I also support patients navigating panic, burnout, life transitions, emotional regulation difficulties, family dynamics, work difficulties, and identity exploration.
I ground my approach in person-centered therapy, but I also use acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) for clarifying values, experiential emotional processing, and connecting to the present moment; somatic-based exercises for a strong mind-body connection; cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to tackle maladaptive core beliefs and cognitions; and neurodivergent-affirming care to tailor interventions for unique brain differences in the neurodiverse community.
There is no right or wrong way to come to therapy, and I welcome patients of all backgrounds and experiences. My goal is to create a safe, warm, and welcoming therapeutic space where you can express yourself authentically, pursue your goals, and find restorative healing and growth.
