Josie Mansergh-Johnson, MHC-LP, MBACP
Resilience is often misunderstood as being stoic through hard times. However, research in child development offers a more compassionate perspective: resilience begins with at least one emotionally available caregiver. This truth extends across our lifespans; the more emotionally attuned people we have in our lives who can co-regulate us and hold space for our feelings, the greater our capacity for growth. Over time, this internal work helps us cultivate a rooted sense of self and navigate life’s storms with clarity and connection.
I embody this truth in both my personal and professional life. With dual training in the U.S. and U.K., I bring a rich understanding of trauma, addiction recovery, and family systems to my work with adults and emerging adults. My approach is integrative and relational, blending psychodynamic and Jungian theory with evidence-based modalities like CBT, DBT, and sensorimotor techniques to support mind-body awareness and lasting change.
As an educator and clinician, I help clients uncover the origins of emotional patterns, develop self-awareness, and build resilience through curiosity and compassion. Having lived internationally, I adapt my approach to each client’s outlook and am mindful of cultural contexts, biases, and influences. Working with me is a process of discovery, recognizing your true worth and unearthing your potential.
