I am an experienced professional working with young adults to navigate stressful, difficult times successfully. I work with clients living with Depression, Anxiety, and most other mental health conditions. Contact me today for a consultation.
Living with OCD or anxiety can be exhausting. The constant doubt, intrusive thoughts, avoidance and compulsions can make everyday life feel overwhelming— like it's running your life instead of you. I specialize in helping adults break free from OCD, perfectionism, and anxiety disorders. I understand how isolating these struggles can feel, and I provide a compassionate, collaborative space where you can feel understood while learning practical tools to understand anxiety and move toward what truly matters to you. If you're struggling with OCD, we’ll use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD. Together we'll build a concrete treatment plan, and with steady support, you’ll gradually face fears, and reduce compulsions, building confidence and learning that you can handle uncertainty without relying on rituals. To address anxiety and perfectionism, I integrate CBT and ACT techniques, so you can develop a healthier mindset and respond to difficult thoughts with more flexibility and self-compassion. Therapy is active and goal-oriented, but always grounded in warmth and respect. I’d love to support you in this process.
Are you finding the stresses of transition to university life to be more difficult than you thought? Do you feel lonely in the crowd, unseen? Do you feel that your worth as a human being depends on your academic success or other actions? Do you live in fear, guilt, or shame? Are anxiety and panic attacks a part of your life? Do you deal with trauma, past and/or present, and how it can intrude on life in unexpected ways? You're not alone. Life can be overwhelming. Emotions can be overwhelming. We are here to serve and support you in life's journey when you hit those hard seasons and help you regain your equilibrium. At The Abundant Life Institute, we look at the whole person: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. While our providers are Christian faith-based, we will meet you where you are and respect your wishes in the area of spirituality. We have offices in Athens and Winder, where we can meet with you in-person, or we can meet with you virtually through our Telehealth portal anywhere in GA. We also have a Pastoral Counselor/Christian Counselor and Life Coaches who can meet with you virtually anywhere in the country. Check out our website and meet our team. We would be honored to serve and support you in any way we can.
Do you want to be listened to without criticism, judgment, or feelings of rejection? Most people do! But do you desire something more? When most people enter therapy, what they often truly desire is change. I want to help you achieve whatever solutions and life changes you are seeking while enjoying the process as much as possible. Simply said, I don’t believe therapy has to always be a painful thing. Calling a therapist can be intimidating, but I hope you will take a moment (and maybe even a deep breath) to reach out and see how I can help. Life is too short to feel like you can’t measure up, let trauma control your relationships, or be anxious/angry all the time. I want you to be free of emotional pain, able to deal with life on life’s terms, and to find meaning & purpose in work, family, friendships, spirituality, and all other life areas. Since 2009, teenagers & adults have worked with me to deal with issues that are no joke. Beyond doing talk therapy, I have specialized training in EMDR & Brainspotting, which specializes in treating issues related to trauma, PTSD, anxiety, loss and insecurities often more quickly than traditional talk-therapies. Online Telehealth/Video sessions available.
Feeling stuck? You’re not alone. Taking the first step toward change can feel overwhelming, but there’s no better time than now to prioritize your well-being. As a licensed and board-certified mental health counselor, I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space to help you break through the barriers that may be holding you back—often rooted in past painful experiences. Together, we’ll explore how those experiences continue to affect you and work toward healing so you can move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and a renewed sense of self. I view therapy as a collaborative process. We'll work together as a team, and I’ll empower you to use your own voice—both in the counseling space and in your day-to-day life. When appropriate, I also enjoy incorporating pop culture and “geek culture” into sessions, using them as creative therapeutic tools alongside traditional approaches. Clients often describe me as calming, easy to talk to, down to earth, and authentic. I’m currently accepting new clients from all over Georgia and Florida for morning and early afternoon Telehealth sessions. You deserve support on your journey, and I’m here to walk alongside you, every step of the way. Let’s take that first step together - reach out today.

As you prepare to address problem areas in your life, finding the right person to work with to help and support you as you move forward toward your goals, is the first step. My therapy practice focuses primarily on children, families and young adults. I believe that better communication and understanding can be key in building better relationships. Typical sessions involve the basics of support, and building on the existing strengths of a person as well as developing better techniques in managing difficult emotional problems. Psychoeducation, which involves helping to understand the mental health symptoms that are being presented and learning how to manage them, as well as skills to build deficits with anger control, social interactions and stress relief, are also taught. Working together on ways to decrease difficult symptoms, such as clients providing better self care skills, building strong coping skills and having improved perspectives is essential to a healthier well being. My role as your therapist is that through the supportive and close therapeutic relationship, you will gain insight and motivation to work toward change. I am currently licensed in NC, GA and am a Certified Telehealth Practitioner in Florida. I am only able to see clients virtually in FL and NC.

Hi, I’m Ashley! I help people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or weighed down by life’s challenges to find clarity, balance, and a renewed sense of control. Many of my clients come to me while dealing with trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, or stress. Together, we work toward healing and building a life that feels more grounded and fulfilling. My style is down-to-earth and collaborative. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine, human conversation - one rooted in trust, curiosity, and compassion. You don’t have to have everything figured out; my role is to help you explore what’s happening beneath the surface, uncover your strengths, and support your growth every step of the way. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Together, we’ll build skills to challenge unhelpful thoughts, regulate emotions, and cultivate greater self-awareness. We’ll also explore your personal narrative and work toward creating a healing shift in perspective. Above all, I tailor each session to meet your unique needs, pace, and goals. Life can be messy and uncertain, but you don’t have to face it alone. Whether you’re hoping to manage stress more effectively, heal from past pain, or simply feel more like yourself again, I’d be honored to support you on this journey. After our time together, you will feel confident, empowered, and more centered in yourself. You will be able to navigate unexpected barriers with greater clarity and resilience, and hopefully experience a deeper sense of peace in your worldview. When you’re ready, let’s take that next step together.

Currently, my practice focuses on anxiety, depression, substance use, relationships, school stress, trauma, disordered eating, and other health concerns (e.g., sleep problems, adjusting to medical diagnoses, etc.). Wherever you have been, however you have arrived, I’m glad you are here. To me, therapy is about taking time and space to listen to our bodies and emotions, with the hope of allowing us to reconnect with our inherent wisdom. We don't lose touch with this wisdom by accident. Trauma, unhealed wounds, and oppression separate us from our wisdom and intuition, and impact our ability to access all parts of ourselves. You and your body carry so much, from the grief and resilience of those who came before you, to the stress of everyday life. You were never meant to carry it all on your own. I approach therapy from a relational and attachment-based framework, with strong influences from intersectional feminism, trauma-informed care and somatic practices. I also believe that our individual health can't be disentangled from our collective wellbeing and therapy is only one of many paths towards healing.
