I am able to build rapport quickly with people and clients in general. I am willing to work with people who are ready to receive the help they need. I am easy to talk to, try to be a good listener, honest, up front, and aware of issues related to immigrants as I am originally from Pakistan and a practicing Muslim. I love working with students specially as they are in the process of transitioning in life and often times need more help with coping.
Hi! Seeking therapy is a courageous step, and my hope is to gain your trust and build rapport. I provide therapy in a non-judgmental space to help facilitate this. I embrace “to be flawed is to be human,” and with this will focus from a Strengths perspective in our work together. My role is to help empower you to use your positive character traits to shift towards the change you want to see in life. I will incorporate mindfulness practice as well as components of Person-centered therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy and CBT to guide you in your therapeutic journey. My only requirements to work together are honesty and an open-mind. I thoroughly enjoy working with adults and adolescents, including those struggling with substance abuse issues.
I promise to be there for you every step of your journey. I strive to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you hope to be in your life. I achieve this by providing a non-judgmental safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan. I bring 24 years of experience to my small private practice. Hi! My name is Rachel Devery and I work with students who struggle with OCD, general anxiety, social anxiety, performance anxiety, and trauma/PTSD. Often anxieties and trauma leads to feeling stuck, hopeless or beyond repair. We can work together to build hope and find peace. The healing journey can be scary, and you are taking some brave steps forward. I know that healing is possible and you do not have to be stuck forever. It would be my honor to work alongside you in this journey to find healing and wholeness. We will work together to reach your goals and face fears. Every person heals differently, and I use a variety of techniques from evidenced-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy.

The hardest part about getting help is that first step where we have to ask. It takes a lot of courage to admit we don't have the right tools for the job, especially when that job is our happiness. Maybe we push people away, or get angry out of nowhere, or carry so much stress we can't sleep. Burnout and depression weigh us down and make it hard to connect with those around us. Our sessions are active and genuine. I work in session to help lower anxiety, build confidence, work through trauma, and to face fear courageously. Our sessions will spend time understanding your values and goals and what you need. I want you to feel like your time was well spent in our sessions. You've already started your journey of getting help and building your skills for a more fulfilling life, and that's awesome! It'll be hard but the fact that you've already begun shows you have strength. If this resonates with you, then I look forward to hearing from you!
I enjoy working with students trying to navigate life's challenges, struggling with anxiety/depression/sleep issues/college stress/relationship issues and are motivated, open, and willing to look within themselves for the answers and personal strengths necessary to heal and grow. I connect on a personal and relaxed level and invite my clients to do the same. I assist in growing my clients' knowledge of the connection between the body, mind, and spirit and believe each of them has an important story to tell.
