As my client, you can expect a safe, therapeutic, and non judgmental environment to process your emotions and better understand yourself. I will help you feel safe, secure, and heard. Together, we will learn how to reframe your negative thinking and develop a positive mindset. I primarily use cognitive behavioral therapy, as well as a client centered/strength based approach. However, I am open to adapting our therapeutic techniques to help you achieve your desired goals.

Life is hard but we can stay strong with support! It takes courage to reach out to a therapist to help you with your life journey. Jenn believes everyone is unique and so there is no “cookie cutter” approach. Her person-centered style allows the client to establish goals and then together work as a “team” to attain growth. There is a wide array of adjustments in life such as leaving home, divorce, parenting, job unhappiness, marital strife, mid-life change, trauma, grief, and aging. Feeling a supportive presence through it all is key! An avid athlete (soccer player) growing up, and current runner and Peleton spin biker, Jenn believes in balance between physical and mental health. Jenn has worked at a private co-educational boarding school for over 30 years. As the Director of Counseling Jenn works with students and families from an array of different cultures and diverse backgrounds. In her private practice offering teleHealth and in person visits, Jenn looks to provide a safe and empathetic environment in which you can feel comfortable and be honest. Reach out to talk and decide for yourself if we are a fit!

If life stressors, anxiety, trauma, or thoughts about food or body image are a persistent concern, it might be the right time to take that brave first step toward seeking support. I understand that setting up a therapy appointment can feel overwhelming, but my goal is to make the process as comforting as possible and collaborate with you to achieve your therapeutic aspirations. My approach warmly welcomes those with a genuine curiosity, aiming to nurture self-compassion and prioritize your well-being amidst challenges like anxiety, eating disorders, trauma, and/or self-criticism. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who is committed to the principles of Health At Every Size (HAES) and believe that every body is worthy of respect and care. I utilize concepts from intuitive eating and my background in dance to help my clients develop a better relationship with their bodies, food, movement, and over all well-being. I have experience working in PHP and IOP levels of care with adults and adolescents in eating disorder treatment. More specifically, I provided individual sessions, family sessions, treatment planning, referrals, collateral calls, as needed. Additionally, I have worked in college counseling programs to provide individual therapy in a short term model.

The trouble is, this doesn’t support growth in the long run. I aim to help you build resilience, find every day magic, and create intentional daily practices in order to learn new ways to engage with your mind and the world you exist in. Let us not just target symptoms but gain a deep understanding of self to make meaningful long term changes.

Life is full of transitions, some of our own choosing, others imposed upon us. The challenges involved in life altering experiences can sometimes feel overwhelming and therefore catalysts for common symptoms of anxiety and depression. This is when therapy can be especially helpful. I offer compassionate, client centered services designed to meet the individual where they are at while incorporating a mindful approach toward treatment. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand, cope with and resolve current challenges at hand. I have 20 years of clinical experience working with adults, families, couples, children and adolescents. My areas of expertise include a dialectical, evidenced based approach in treating symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, divorce, D.V., grief and loss, relational issues etc. Credentialed in a Positive Parenting Program (Triple P). I offer a variety of techniques in therapy while striving to build trust in the therapeutic relationship. These are likely to include dialogue, interpretation, mindfulness, cognitive restructuring, reframing, relaxation techniques, guided imagery, self-monitoring exercises, exploring family of origin, attachment, systems theory, multicultural frameworks, oppression awareness etc.

I love working with college students and young adults. I understand what a complex and sometimes overwhelming time of life this can be; whether you find yourself struggling with anxiety, depression, or difficulty navigating your relationships, I am truly passionate about supporting my clients in their process to gain deeper self-understanding and foster personal growth through self-compassion. I work from a place of genuine curiosity and respect each person’s path as unique. I take a warm, supportive, and collaborative approach, using the information that you present (or, in some cases, avoid) to help you make sense of the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may be undermining your relationships and productivity.

Starting or returning to college can bring up unique challenges—navigating relationships, managing stress, adjusting to new independence, or figuring out who you are and what you want. I work best with students who are thoughtful, curious, and open to exploring their inner world, even if that feels a little intimidating at first. Many of my clients are balancing academics with the ups and downs of friendships, family, dating, and questions about their identity. My practice is LGBTQ-affirming and welcoming to students of all backgrounds. I provide a calm and supportive space where you can slow down, untangle what feels overwhelming, and begin to feel more grounded. Whether you’re seeking clarity in relationships, support with stress or anxiety, or a place to process deeper emotions, therapy can be a meaningful step toward feeling more connected and at ease with yourself. I look forward to supporting you!
