Therapists for college students near Boston College
My therapeutic orientation is guided by psychodynamic, humanistic, and relational approaches, and founded on a strengths-based model, which emphasizes that each person is the expert of their own story. My style is compassionate, empowering, and accessible, and I focus on meeting people where they are. I draw on a range of modalities including narrative therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Liberation Health, and motivational interviewing. My clinical approach is trauma-informed and collaborative, with a queer, feminist, and anti-oppressive lens. I have worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, crisis centers, schools and colleges. I provide psychotherapy to adults of all ages and backgrounds, specializing in anxiety, depression, PTSD, identity, life transitions, relationships, gender and sexuality, and the survival of domestic and or sexual violence. I worked for five years at a Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) clinic with individuals experiencing severe, medication-resistant depression, advocating for clients’ needs. My identities and experiences working in a variety of clinical settings have strengthened my passion for working with queer and BIPOC individuals to support healing, growth, and joy.

I'm a firm believer that you don’t need to wait until things get really bad to start therapy. Every person is unique, and therapy should be the same - that’s why I take a tailored, individualized approach that’s flexible to meet your needs and goals. The foundation of our work is a multicultural-feminist perspective that positions you as the expert of your own experience. I take a warm, collaborative approach to help you get clarity about who you are and how you want your life to look. I also integrate evidence-based interventions from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and relational frameworks. My goals involve helping clients move upstream to identify and resolve systemic and personal patterns that keep them stuck and working together to find more joy. I also believe that the personal is political. More often than not, sociopolitical systems of oppression like racism, sexism, heterosexism, transphobia, ableism, and more directly impact mental health. As a result, I take an actively anti-racist, intersectional, identity-affirming approach with clients across a broad spectrum of marginalization and privilege. I specialize in working with college students, graduate students, young adults, and professionals in Massachusetts on a variety of common issues including: mood (anxiety, depression), identity development, life transitions and adjustment, ADHD, relationship issues, academic and career issues, and burnout.
I am Dr. Catline Jacques, a double board-certified psychiatrist. I completed my psychiatry residency at Tufts Medical Center and my fellowship in consultation liaison psychiatry at Cambridge Health Alliance. My professional background gives me a uniquely integrated perspective on how stress, anxiety, and burnout affect your mind, body, and academic performance. I work with students and young adults experiencing depression, anxiety, life stressors, and burnout, as well as conditions that often accompany these, including ADHD, OCD, PTSD, and health anxiety. I offer psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and supportive therapy, personalized to your goals and delivered without feeling rushed. All services are 100% virtual and available to adults across Massachusetts. Reaching out is a first step, not a commitment. I would be glad to support you. We typically respond within 24 hours. We offer a 15-minute free consultation.
**I am currently offering in person sessions in Princeton, NJ and virtual sessions. Are you experiencing anxiety, feelings of overwhelm, and/or "just not feeling yourself"? Or are you an individual looking to address life, relationship, or other stressors that are having an impact on your present moment experience (i.e., sport, academic, or work)? I specialize in working with college students and athletes that may be experiencing these challenges or performance related issues. My approach is personalized tailored to an individual's needs in a warm and supportive atmosphere. I am down to earth and direct, yet compassionate, empathetic, and caring. I will work with you in a way that builds on your strengths and potential, as well as challenges you to work towards your goals. I strive to understand the special needs of each individual in order to enhance one's growth and development, reach one's goals, and live a more meaningful life, while embracing a multicultural sensitive atmosphere.

Hi! I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with 8 years of experience working in various clinical settings with children, adolescents, young adults and adults. I am invested in the power of connection and community, especially for those who have been historically marginalized. Many have been pushed away from connection and community by systems that weren’t built for them. My hope is to empower those whose voices and identities have been stifled, to reclaim space through community, resistance, and activism. My lived experiences as a queer, South Asian, cisgender woman deeply inform my approach to therapy. I believe in holding space for the multiple, intersecting identities and experiences each person carries and honoring the wisdom you already bring into the room. Through a liberation-focused, relational, and trauma-informed approach, I support individuals who are looking to process traumatic experiences, explore gender and sexuality, or navigate their cultural identity and intergenerational trauma. Therapy should be a space where you don’t have to justify who you are and where all aspects of your identity are welcome. This work is hard, and it can be exhausting to be vulnerable. I’m here to walk alongside you and support your process of unlearning, stretching beyond comfort zones, and cultivating new ways of being. I am here to offer curiosity, care, and a space to hold multiple truths. Growth isn’t linear—it’s a daily practice of reflection, connection, and self-compassion. We all deserve spaces that nurture us in this process, and I am honored to co-create that space with you. My integrative approach draws from trauma-informed and relational-cultural modalities, rooted in the understanding that we are shaped by our experiences, culture, ancestors, and the larger social and political systems we inhabit. If you’re looking for a supportive space to explore your identity and experiences, I invite you to reach out. Call or email to schedule a consultation—I look forward to meeting you. *Note: I am currently seeking individuals interested in participating in EMDR sessions as I work towards the completion of EMDR Basic Training. If interested please let me know!

Metrowest Nutrition and Therapy is a multi-disciplinary group practice dedicated to helping individuals heal their relationship with food, movement, and body.
I am a Harvard-trained psychiatrist providing psychotherapy and medication management for college students and young adults. I help individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, perfectionism, test anxiety, social anxiety, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I have particular experience working with LGBTQ+ students and young adults, as well as those navigating identity development, college adjustment, academic stress, and uncertainty about the future. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by coursework, struggling socially, questioning your direction, or finding it difficult to meet the expectations you've set for yourself, treatment can provide a space to better understand what's getting in the way and develop a healthier path forward. My approach is collaborative, thoughtful, and individualized. I integrate psychodynamic psychotherapy with evidence-based medication management when appropriate, taking the time to understand your unique experiences, goals, and values rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. My goal is to help you not only reduce symptoms, but also develop greater self-understanding, confidence, and resilience.

The current global crisis compiled with our personal life experiences have created a sense of overwhelm, burnout, isolation and disconnection. Kellyann’s counseling sessions are built on a holistic model where she applies multiple approaches based on what a client wants and needs. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is used to support clients with managing their symptoms in healthy ways. Dialectical Behavior Therapy is used to assist clients with learning how to process the emotions they find intolerable. Psychoanalysis allows Kellyann to look for healing at the root cause. Internal Family Systems teaches an individual what they may need and identify ways to receive it. Mindfulness allows clients to accept their truth even when what have happened to them may have been extremely wrong and unfair and Trauma Processing allows for clients to create a healthy connection to their experiences through a narrative. Spirituality invites the opportunity to see a possibility for hope even one is nowhere in sight. Kellyann works with people who are struggling with a variety of mental health problems as well as clients seeking life skills and tools for coping in our stressful world. She offers a free 15-minute phone consult to in order to determine whether we are a good fit prior to scheduling the first session.
I bring over 25 years of experience supporting young adults through major life transitions, mental health challenges, and the everyday complexities of college life. For nearly two decades, I’ve worked at Boston College as an Associate Dean and instructor, helping students navigate academic pressure, identity development, and moments of uncertainty with compassion and clarity. I also understand the university system deeply, which allows me to help students who are coping with mental health challenges access campus supports while we work together on their therapeutic goals. My clinical work is grounded in evidence‑based, trauma‑informed approaches and a strong belief in students’ resilience. Sessions are thoughtful, personalized, and goal oriented. In our work together, I will create a space where you can understand what you’re experiencing, build on your strengths, and move through college with greater clarity and support.
I specialize in working with clients with anxiety, but also treat a number of other issues, including (but not limited to) depression, ADHD, life transitions, relationship issues etc. I also work as a faculty field advisor at Boston College School of Social Work.
