Navigating challenges in our daily lives can seem overwhelming especially when dealing with the echoes of past trauma. Seeking support is a courageous step, and you don’t have to face this journey alone.

My ideal client is someone who is ready and motivated to dive in head first into their healing journey. Someone who knows they have their “stuff” but really wants to explore where it all stems from. I love working with those clients who just trying to figure it all out in this life (I see you, Millennials) and who are navigating the transitions and curveballs that can be thrown our way. I love meeting the client where they’re at to begin with, but don’t be surprised when I push you a little bit. I’ve been told that I have a really great way of understanding mental health, but I’m also known not to sugar coat the realities. I am trained in EMDR (A trauma processing modality using eye movements) and other trauma informed care models to explore the aspects of our past and handle the bigger emotions that could come along with that. Being real and relatable is very important to me in my sessions as the therapist/client connection is what will drive this boat. As your therapist, I can promise to provide you the tools to step outside of your own head and connect the dots that answer the question of “Why am I the way that I am”? Therapy is not always easy and we need to be honest with ourselves with what’s holding us back, but I can promise to provide positive vibes and great support every single time we meet.

Do you struggle with daily negative thoughts and low mood? School or work stress? Feeling hopeless about the future and wondering if you will ever feel better? If so, I think we could be a good fit together in therapy. In sessions, I utilize a mix of actively listening and offering concrete tools to help you feel better and reach your goals. These tools are from research-backed treatments called cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). I also enjoy incorporating my sense of humor and positive demeanor to help you feel understood and motivated during our treatment together. I am licensed in New York and Massachusetts. My practice is currently virtual. In addition to my private practice, I am a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychology in Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College, where I teach psychology and psychiatry graduate students. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions! I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to answer your questions and see whether I would be a good fit for your therapy goals.

Working with young adults and colleges students struggling with anxiety, life transitions, trauma, and relationship challenges is something I've had the privilege to do for more than 15 years. I have expertise working with individuals with anxiety disorders including generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, specific phobias, and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). I received my B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and my Doctorate from Widener University. I have a passion for supporting my clients through challenges and growth in their lives. My approach to therapy is one of collaboration. We will work together to learn how to reduce and manage symptoms in ways that make sense to you given your own unique personal and cultural background. Drawing most heavily from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) our sessions will focus on empirically supported treatments that have been shown to help individuals make tangible and concrete changes in their lives. I utilize a warm, engaging style to help those I work with develop your strengths and gain insight into patterns that are hindering you from achieving your potential in all areas of life. The opportunity to be a part of someone’s journey while they make changes in their life is the ultimate privilege. I invite individuals to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation to make sure that we are a good fit and to answer any questions you have about what to expect in treatment. I look forward to taking steps in our work together.

It takes courage to explore different healing pathways. I am glad you are exploring options that are supportive to you. I strongly believe we all deserve healing and safe spaces. I believe we can collaborate and create this space for you. My therapeutic approach can be described by the words from R. Dass: “We are all just walking each other home” in our journey towards wholeness. I understand my role as a clinical social worker is to accompany individuals in their own inner healing and discovery of their own resiliency. I am committed to a trauma-informed and anti-oppression practice. My therapeutic practice embodies caring for the whole person (mind-body-spirit). I have a specialized interest in integrating individuals’ deepest spiritual or cultural practices and engaging in nature based healing. It is a privilege and gift to co-create healing spaces together. Since I have had ten years experience in a hospital setting, I can offer specialized treatments in traumatic stress and vicarious trauma on care providers. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Mindfulness-Based Practice. It can be challenging to find a therapist that is a good fit. If you think we may be a good fit, then please feel free to reach out so we can schedule a brief initial phone consultation to discuss goals and hopes.

I work with adults (18+) who have difficulty managing their emotions and who struggle with depression, anxiety, impulsive behavior, thoughts of suicide and self-harm, interpersonal problems, or problems functioning at work or school. I provide evidence-based treatments including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help my clients change ineffective behavioral patterns, develop more helpful ways of thinking, and accept difficult realities in order to build the lives they want. I see therapy as a collaboration between client and therapist to work towards their goals in treatment and in life. I specialize in DBT, a gold standard treatment for Borderline Personality Disorder and related problems with emotion regulation. I provide a range of DBT services for clients. I also use CBT to treat specific problems: panic, generalized anxiety, OCD, depression, and trauma. I can tailor treatment interventions to meet clients' individual needs. Through my validating and nonjudgmental style, I am committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based treatment to help you reach your most desired goals. I currently offer services including comprehensive DBT, individual therapy (DBT, CBT) and individual DBT skills coaching and consultation. Welcome, and thanks for looking! I'm excited to begin your counseling journey with you. My role as your therapist will be to not only help you feel safe and supported, but also gently challenge you when appropriate. I am especially eager to work with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, self-esteem, relationship troubles, body image, LGBTQ+ related themes, and difficulties related to life transitions. My primary approach to counseling is very relational. I believe that trusting your therapist is the pinnacle of what makes therapy work. One of the best parts of my job is hearing someone say "I couldn't wait to talk to you about this!" I want our work to feel collaborative and tailored to your individual needs as much as possible. Seeking therapy can be very intimidating, and you're taking a brave step by being here. My goal is to make you feel as comfortable, validated, and supported as possible when we work together. I'm looking forward to connecting!
