I am a clinical social worker who takes a Rogerian approach to therapeutic relationships. After 9 years of public health experience I have developed a broad skill set. My expertise includes trauma informed care, parenting, smoking cessation, substance use, intimate partner violence, healthy masculinity, medical adherence and perinatal mood disorders. I have years of experience working on multidisciplinary teams and speak the language of healthcare. I utilize evidence based practices and have been trained in a variety of modalities including EMDR, motivational interviewing, tobacco treatment and cessation, eco-therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
I am an integrative and trauma-informed therapist and specialize in helping my clients work on improving self-esteem, boundaries, and assertiveness. My therapeutic style is relational, culturally-sensitive, insight-oriented and evidence-based. I draw from my training in psychodynamic, CBT, ACT, DBT and Gottman Method for couples.

As a PMHNP, my role focuses on the comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health conditions. I prescribe medications, provide brief psychotherapy, and offer holistic care to those students dealing with mental health challenges. I work closely with patients to understand their symptoms, identify treatment options, and ensure their psychiatric needs are met through both pharmacological and therapeutic interventions, to include genetic testing and ADHD computer based testing. I have extensive experience working with college students to help manage the anxiety, stress, depression and all the emotions that may come with being a young adult student.
Are you a woman struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, perfectionism, people-pleasing, self-expression, or body-image concerns? You're not alone. Trying to fix everything you dislike about yourself can be draining. In my practice, I offer a supportive space where you can explore these challenges without judgment. You don't have to be perfect to take up space in this world. You deserve to feel safe and confident in your own skin. When we face ourselves with kindness and become the compassionate witness to our own stories, we lay the groundwork for profound transformation. As a trauma-informed somatic based therapist, I recognize that true healing involves reconnecting with our embodied selves, where experiences are felt, honored, and integrated. You harbor the knowledge of what is necessary for your healing and what resonates authentically with you. My role is to help you reconnect with this inner wisdom, empowering you to navigate life with clarity and self-compassion. If this resonates, reach out and let's connect!
Life can feel heavy sometimes, but you don’t have to carry it all alone. Hey, I'm Zuriah! Therapy with me is a no-judgment zone where you can show up as you are, exhale, and feel truly seen. Hi I'm Alison Cross! I am a psychotherapist, and I provide both in person and virtual services in Georgia and North Carolina. It’s important to have an idea of what feels like the right fit when you’re looking for a qualified person to talk to. The problem is, how do you know? So here's what it looks like with me. When my client leaves our session, my goal is for them to feel heard and respected. I want my clients to feel like they’re talking to a real person. How else can trust be built? My style has been described as 'down to earth, gentle, and encouraging.' I also have a great sense of humor that comes in only when appropriate. I view therapy as a safety net for the various issues clients bring. I will collaborate with you from the very first session on goals for your time. Some people I work with prefer to set the agenda for our time together, with just a few interjections from me. Understanding the big picture and getting to the heart of the matter are things I'm good at. I have also completed the Level 1 training in Internal Family Systems and Level 1 training in the Embodied Reocvery Model. I love using these models because they are beautifully client focused. My goal is to develop a positive therapeutic relationship with you. When that happens, hope is tangible and the spirit opens to new life and new beginnings. All sessions with me will be virtual unless I'm in Atlanta and we can coordinate an in person session.
Engaging in therapy is an important commitment and can be difficult to fit in with the rest of life's responsibilities. Perhaps you've tried therapy before and found it unhelpful, or worry that constant engagement in therapy is required for lasting change. Trying to cope with the aftermath of trauma, or the way anxiety symptoms can disrupt a day, or having the same fight again and again with a partner can seem to take all of your energy and motivation. Life is often stressful and chaotic, and the times when we feel most stretched thin are the times we need the most support and change. I believe the best outcome of therapy is graduating from therapy - knowing you now have the tools to do what YOU want to do in life. I have spent most of the first 10 years of my career as a Psychologist in the VA, which has allowed me to obtain expert training in effective therapy protocols that produce quick, lasting results - so you can get on with life. Your goals are reachable - we just need to find our way there. Every person's path is different, and I look forward to walking with you on yours. I use effective, proven tools from CBT, ACT, and mindfulness-based approaches to guide both individuals and couples toward their chosen destinations.
Figuring out identity, establishing meaningful relationships, and navigating through changing independent roles while on the quest for financial stability, can be an overwhelming mix of demands. Add spiritual and/or cultural expectations to the blend and you might just feel like quitting before you even start! It’s a wonder why anxiety, depression and other forms of addictive “coping” exist. Need some help addressing these symptoms while managing life’s demands? Say less.
College can be one of the most exciting and overwhelming seasons of your life. You may be adjusting to being away from home, navigating new relationships, questioning your major, managing academic pressure, or quietly carrying anxiety, depression, or past trauma that hasn’t had space to heal. On the outside, it can look like everyone else is handling it just fine — but inside, you might feel stuck, exhausted, unmotivated, or unsure of who you’re becoming. If you’re in that space, you’re not alone. And you don’t have to work through it by yourself. I work with college students who are in the middle of real life transitions — identity shifts, relationship changes, academic stress, family expectations, grief, trauma, and the quiet weight of self-doubt. Depression during college often doesn’t look like “sad all the time.” It can show up as procrastination, isolation, low motivation, difficulty focusing, or feeling disconnected from the person you used to be. Trauma can show up in relationships, in trust, in sleep, or in how hard you are on yourself. Together, we slow things down. We make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface. We identify patterns that are keeping you stuck and build practical tools that help you feel more steady, confident, and grounded. My approach is collaborative and straightforward. I don’t believe in sitting back silently while you struggle to find words. We talk. We process. We challenge unhelpful thoughts. We work through emotional blocks. I integrate approaches such as CBT, trauma-informed care, and other evidence-based strategies to help you build resilience while honoring your story. My goal is not just symptom relief — it’s helping you understand yourself better so you can move forward with clarity and confidence. College is a time of growth — but growth can feel uncomfortable. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, numb, stuck, or unsure about your direction, therapy can be a space to reset and regain momentum. You deserve support as you figure out who you are and who you want to become. If you’re ready to take the next step, I invite you to Request an Initial Appointment and begin therapy. You don’t have to wait until things get worse. Let’s work together to help you regain balance, rebuild confidence, and move through this season with strength.
You may be the one who keeps it together for everyone else, always striving, always overanalyzing. But inside, you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or not quite “enough.” Whether you’re navigating anxiety, struggling in your relationships, or feeling stuck in cycles of self-doubt, therapy can offer a space to breathe, reflect, and rebuild. I help teens and adults understand their inner world and reconnect with themselves. My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in real conversation. I’ll meet you where you are, and together we’ll explore what’s keeping you stuck and how to move forward. I integrate tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), attachment-based therapy, and experiential therapy. Therapy with me isn’t about perfection, it’s about creating a space where you can be honest and supported without judgment. You’ll gain insight, learn how to manage your emotions with more confidence, and develop more secure relationships. If you're feeling unsure where to start, that’s okay. You don’t have to have it all figured out before reaching out.

I enjoy working with young people and will help you untangle your thoughts, get in touch with the strongest parts of your inner being, and get back to living life on your own terms. Maybe you find yourself living too much in the past, or too much in the future. Maybe you want to be a better partner, feel optimistic about the future again, and feel like the person you have always imagined yourself to be. Through therapy, we look at ways in which your thoughts and beliefs shape your entire reality, often negatively and unrealistically. In every journey, you need a guide. A guide to navigate the stresses inherent in everyday life.
