Therapists for college students near Duke University
If you've been carrying the weight of anxiety or depression, feeling stuck in patterns you can't seem to break, or wondering if anyone truly understands what you're going through, you're in the right place. You don't have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. My goal is to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are—without judgment, pressure, or the expectation that you must "have it all together." I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine relationship. I'll meet you with curiosity, honesty, and compassion while also helping you challenge the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Together, we'll work to understand what has shaped your experiences, build practical skills to help you navigate life's challenges, and create meaningful changes that aligns with the life you want to live. I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, everyday stress, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, neurodivergence, psychosis, and major life transitions. I'm especially passionate about supporting people who have felt overlooked, misunderstood, or like they have had to carry everything on their own. Whether you're a teen (or parent of one) trying to find your place, a young adult navigating life’s uncertainty, or someone who has spent years putting others before yourself, I want you to know you don't have to face it alone. My approach is collaborative, person-centered, and grounded in your strengths. I draw from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), tailoring each session to your unique goals, values, and experiences. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, we'll work together to find what genuinely helps you move forward. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology from North Carolina State University and my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I'm a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHC-A) with extensive training in DBT and CBT. Reaching out for therapy can feel intimidating, and taking that first step is often the hardest part. If you're looking for someone who will listen, challenge you when it's helpful, celebrate your progress, and walk alongside you through life's ups and downs, I'd be honored to be part of your journey. I hope you'll reach out so we can see if we're a good fit.

Thank you for considering Sahas Counseling for your mental health needs and I look forward to working with you. I am currently offering in person and telehealth services to residents in NC, and telehealth only for SC residents. Everything you need to heal is already within you, and my work with you will help build motivation, awareness, confidence, and understanding that nurtures these strengths that exist, but are difficult to see when external and internal challenges are faced in life. Not everyone is the same and not one particular treatment model will be the best fit. Therefore, I will meet you where you are at on this journey towards healing, and provide quality of care that will be person centered and tailored to your specific needs. I have a BA in Psychology, Masters in Social Work, and have a 200-HR RYT certification. I have been working in the mental health field in both inpatient and outpatient settings over the past 16 years. I have participated in mental health and trauma sensitive yoga trainings to provide more than just talk therapy during sessions. I mostly have experience working with adults, older teens, Veterans, families, and couples. If you are a LCSW-A looking for clinical supervision, I can also help by providing the supervision hours necessary to be fully licensed and become the clinician you want to be. I know there is an end goal when entering therapy, but the journey to that goal is just as important. We will work together to make that path you desire to be on.

At GEE we primarily service Gen Z and Millennials managing symptoms of anxiety, depression, social stressors, trauma , family relationships and life transitions. We have and continue to service many college students throughout the state of North Carolina. Our approach is to meet each student where they are at in their journey and you will always be included in the treatment process so that you know we are working towards your goals. You will meet with a licensed therapist that is passionate about serving and helping you to meet your goals. We are currently offering both in person and virtual sessions to meet your needs.
Have you been struggling with anxiety, overachieving, low self-esteem and relationship issues, but found traditional talk therapy hasn't provided the relief you are looking for? I am passionate about holding a non-conventional healing space for highly sensitive, people pleasers. Most clients I work with appreciate the creative, holistic, pagan-friendly and somatic focused container that I offer. During our sessions together we will gain a deeper understanding of your struggles through inner child work and processing how symptoms uniquely show up in your body. With more self-understanding we can build a greater mind-body connection and grow your innate intuition. Through these steps I hope to empower you to create the life you want and love yourself, deeply.
Maybe now is the right time to take off the mask, to start being exactly who you have long dreamt of being, and to unwind the faulty narrative that others created. Being ourselves is a full time job, and while there isn't much financial compensation for authenticity, there sure is more peace than most of us have previously known. While I enjoy the ease of Telehealth (my main modality), I also love getting outside with my clients. Hiking sessions are frequent, and like myself, my clients have discovered the healing power of nature. Let's take an integrative approach, start with the base of the tree, and work our way up. Our roots are often far deeper than we suspect, and it is what fed them that has brought us to this moment; a reckoning, finding ourselves outside of ourselves. For many, PTSD is the ground floor, the basement; let's climb out of there together. Meeting clients where they are at, exploring healthy coping mechanisms to replace maladaptive life lessons, working through the triggers, facing the monsters together, and learning how to live a fuller life; that's what I want to teach you. I specialize in the treatment of ASD, ADHD, PTSD, anxiety, and depression, and am excited to help you find your way.
With over 25 years of experience supporting individuals through life’s challenges, I provide compassionate, evidence-based therapy tailored to each client’s unique needs. I especially enjoy working with college-aged clients, helping them navigate academic pressure, career exploration, internship and job-related stress, and major life changes with greater confidence and resilience. My primary approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is highly effective in treating anxiety, depression, and the stress that often comes with new life transitions. My goal is to create a supportive, down-to-earth space where you feel understood, supported, and equipped with practical tools to move forward. Schedule a free 30 minute consult using my online calendar to meet me and determine if we're a good fit.
As a licensed health psychologist, I provide support to the whole person, not one condition, and consider the biological, psychological, and social factors that may enhance or get in the way of your satisfaction in life. I seek to foster a collaborative, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment so that we can work together to create and implement a plan that leads to fulfillment. While I can assess and diagnose a wide range of conditions through assessment and therapy, I am passionate about supporting you in answering the larger questions, like, "What does this mean for me in my life? How can I make sure that my behavior matches what I value?" My goal is not about feeling better, it's about feeling fulfilled. Let's get started!
I’m passionate about helping college students navigate the challenges that come with this stage of life. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, struggling with depression, facing family stress, or adjusting to a major life transition, I strive to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered. You don't have to have everything figured out—we can work together to help you build confidence, develop healthy coping skills, and move toward a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.
