I have particular expertise working with Depression, Anxiety, OCD, ADHD, Couples, Career struggles, Trauma, Grief, and issues with Self-esteem and Identity. I enjoy working with young adults and teens. I have worked as the clinical director at several universities, most recently at Creighton University. I have specialized training in DBT therapy. I value the diversity of human experience and I am therefore affirming of all: racial and ethnic backgrounds, sexual and gender orientations, and religious backgrounds.

We are dedicated to providing a caring, nonjudgmental space where you can feel open to sharing vulnerabilities and telling your unique stories. Our therapists seek to help you recognize and build upon your strengths and resiliency to make the changes that matter most to you, to heal from past hurts, and to create greater happiness and fulfillment. We know that change often feels deeply overwhelming and scary, so having someone truly and consistently there for you can make the world of a difference. We meet every client– individuals, couples, and families– where they are, with genuine respect and compassion. TriBeCa Therapy is a center for psychotherapy that was founded on the assumption that human beings are original, imaginative, inspired, and inventive. We particularly love our work with young adults and college students and are connected to issues they deal with. Issues related to sex and dating, drugs and drinking, depression and anxiety and academic pressures aren’t topics that will freak us out. We can handle it. College students frequently discuss with us challenges such as: making friends in ways that don’t involve alcohol, making friends as a person of color, navigating social situations that demand connecting with strangers (like in the cafeteria) and finding “their people.” We work to create a partnership that takes these challenges on together, trying new strategies, taking increasingly bigger risks and dealing with the disappointments and celebrating the successes that follow. College is a time when many young adults are dealing with very adults issues like sex, sexual assault, eating disorders, substance abuse, managing money, race, class, and career choices. Creating a space where young adults feel comfortable talking about these issues is a strength of our therapists and a non-judgmental stance is key. The object isn’t to insist on a particular set of values or practices, but to support young people to understand what they are dealing with and to make active choices about who they want to be. Often, we can get stuck in our daily grind of rise, rinse, repeat, daydreaming about what could be different, and yet feel paralyzed by uncertainty. “Feel the fear and do it anyway” might fall flat because how does one get to the point where they can identify what they are feeling is fear and trust in themselves and others to hold space for them along that journey? In my therapeutic practice, I offer a compassionate, culturally sensitive, and judgment-free space informed by humor, creativity, and collaboration. My goal is to support those who may be experiencing concerns including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and burnout. With a special focus on trauma-informed care and disordered eating, I provide a secure and comfortable environment where clients can explore and heal from past and present challenges. By blending person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and psychodynamic techniques, we will craft a personalized strategy to address what is holding you back from reaching your authentic self.
Through careful listening and an empathic, honest approach I can help you feel better about yourself and your life. You may feel stuck in a job or relationship, or overly stressed with the demands of school. You may want more from life but not know how to get it. You may be struggling with with the difficulties of parenthood or marriage. I can help with artistic, creative, or intellectual struggles, body issues, sexual problems, substance issues, imbalances of life and work, impulse control, past trauma, or even just a general lack of inspiration or motivation in life. The goal is always to feel better about love and work. I welcome adult individuals and adolescents into my practice, with a focus on college students. My work is psychoanalytically informed but pragmatic, and it is important to me to get to know my patients well and to spend time working collaboratively through their needs. I hold master's and doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA and completed my psychoanalytic training at the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research in New York. My private practice office is located in Union Square in Manhattan, and in the coming months I'll be opening an office in the Hudson Valley area of upstate New York.

You’ve always been the one who holds it all together — dependable, driven, the go-to person when others need support. But lately, it might feel like the pressure to succeed is coming at the cost of your peace. You’re not alone in that feeling. I work with students who appear to be doing “just fine” on the outside, but underneath are carrying anxiety, self-doubt, and the weight of high expectations. Together, we’ll create space to explore how your past experiences, values, and internal narratives are shaping the way you move through the world — and gently question whether those patterns are still serving you. Therapy with me is relational, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity. You don’t need to show up with the perfect words or a clear goal — just a willingness to begin.
