THE WAYS IN WHICH I PROVIDE THERAPY, COUNSELING, CAREER, AND LIFE COACHING I use an integrated holistic approach to work with individuals - adolescents & adults, couples, and families. I provide a neutral safe space to listen to your concerns and to hear about your goals. I offer reassurance, encouragement, connection, and acceptance to support the positive changes and progress you want to make in your life. SOLUTION FOCUS I assist in finding answers, support the healing process, and aid in your personal exploration, growth, and development with a continuous positive regard. Together we create an individualized plan and customized course of action. I aid clients in forming new understanding and behaviors for achieving goals, to overcome existing barriers, positively navigate through and beyond current life challenges, and become aware of inner strengths. I assist clients to discover tools they already possess and gain new ones for making positive changes. I help identify patterns keeping them stuck, immobilized, or that may not be serving them well. MY PROMISE AND PHILOSOPHY I promise to be there for you every step of your journey whether in counseling, therapy, or coaching. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, become empowered, and move forward to where you want to be in your life. I will act as a compassionate collaborative partner in the process of healing, pursuing greater well-being, and achieving your goals. I will work with you in building a positive helpful relationship that includes respect and regard for who you are as an individual. I sincerely celebrate positive changes that you are working towards, have made, and will accomplish.
Humor is something I like to incorporate into therapy; however, we can be serious about your concerns too. People of all ages struggle with human suffering and sometimes you need someone to walk with you through that, whether it be something you wish to change or something that you cannot. I aim to help my clients make meaning in life while also identifying the connections between our individual concerns and larger systems in life. I provide individual therapy for a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, identity exploration, and trauma, with specialized experience supporting people through grief, traumatic loss, and substance use concerns. My clients have expressed appreciation for my ability to sit with them in their suffering, when they have felt most alone. I have multiple years of experience previously working in college counseling centers. During these experiences, I supported students from a variety of backgrounds and found a lot of joy in helping students at a unique intersection in their lives. I have been lucky to work with a diverse student population and have supported many queer and trans students in exploring their gender and sexual identities while also addressing other mental health concerns. In addition, I was able to support BIPOC students as they addressed systemic issues within the university, while also exploring their individual racial identities. I further co-facilitated a family-trauma group during my time at a university counseling center. Thus, I find that I greatly appreciate being able to sit with students who are addressing these concerns. I am a Psychologist Resident in OR. I have my doctorate and five years of experience providing therapy, however, to become licensed in OR I must complete a supervised residency. I am supervised by Dr. Carrie McMullin (OR 2963). Starting therapy can feel daunting, so take a moment to acknowledge that you have come this far in recognizing therapy may be a helpful approach for you. Therapy requires self-reflection, an open heart, and a curious mind into learning about ourselves and the way in which we interact with the world and those around us. Although it may be daunting, it is incredibly rewarding to unpack and understand what is getting in the way of happiness, growth, intimacy, and self-compassion. My purpose as a therapist is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where individuals can explore the deep rooted issues and patterns that make them feel "stuck". I support clients with strategies pulled from EMDR, mindfulness, yoga, and other person-centered approaches.

Hi, I’m Jessica Izsak As a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon, I offer a warm, grounded space where you can begin to make sense of what feels heavy, stuck, or overwhelming. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy, and you do not have to carry it alone. My work is rooted in EMDR and IFS-informed parts work, with additional support from ACT, DBT, and other trauma-informed approaches. I tailor therapy to each person’s needs, pace, and goals, with care that is thoughtful, collaborative, and steady. At Whole Self Mental Wellness, I see you as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms. My hope is to help you feel more understood, more connected to yourself, and more supported in moving toward healing and change.
Having worked in hospitals, behavioral/mental health, and in the homes of the elderly and disabled for the past 21 years, I will bring a depth of knowledge and experience to your therapy journey. My friendly down to earth, and “strengths based” approach helps clients balance their goals, wishes and desires with options. I can help you find new ways to cope, to handle life’s challenges, to connect with others and have happy, secure friendships and relationships. It may not be easy, and it may not happen overnight, but I assure you that the ability to change and grow is within yourself!
I provide a holistic, strengths based, and non-pathologizing approach to wellness. I am a compassionate listener and active participant in helping people realize self-compassion and acceptance so they can heal past wounds and make changes in their lives that allow them to fully realize who they are at their core. Through use of sensorimotor/somatic therapy, EMDR and IFS (you can read more about these on my website), I help people learn to listen to their bodies and their internal wisdom so they can make choices that are in line with their values and hold themselves with more confidence and ease. While I work with all kinds of concerns, I specialize in helping individuals and their partners, who are having difficulty with intimacy due to a history of sexual abuse. I also honor and celebrate diversity and create a safe and affirming place for people who identify as LGBT, genderqueer or questioning and for people who are non-monogamous. So many of us have experienced physical and emotional traumas that have created barriers for us to live the lives we are meant to. I offer EMDR sessions to help people resolve those past experiences so memories are no longer held in the body in the same distressing way and they are free to feel safe again and enjoy more security in their relationships.

Are you in the midst of a major life transition, like a breakup or family crisis, and feel confused about how to move forward? Do you struggle with relationship issues like how to communicate better with a loved one, have trouble navigating conflicts, or have a desire to have more joy-filled relationships? Not only do I have book knowledge about these issues, I have lived many of them, just like you. I believe that we all need a little coaching and encouragement at times. I have a direct, compassionate and solution focused style and have 30 years experience in the field. I work with individuals and couples and specialize in relationship issues. I love working with people in life transition. I am a certified Relational Life Therapist, with additional training using Gottman, the Couples Institute and also Emotion Focused Therapy materials. I use a variety of resources to custom fit my approach to my clients' needs.
Life experiences, anxiety, loss, relationship challenges, and life transitions can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves and the lives we want. I believe that healing happens when people feel heard, understood, and empowered to reclaim authorship of their lives. I view counseling as a collaborative process that honors people's lived experiences and capacity for growth. I do my best to create an affirming and compassionate space where clients can explore their experiences, uncover strengths, make meaning of their stories, and take actions toward living lives that feel more authentic and aligned with their values. My counseling approach is integrative and informed by critical ecological perspectives, drawing from person-centered, narrative, cognitive behavioral, and existential therapies. I care deeply about fairness, justice, and understanding how the systems and environments around us shape mental health and well-being.
The desire for connection with others is hardwired into our brains. We want to be loved, to love, and to feel seen and heard by those we're connected to. Sometimes that doesn't happen and we're hurt, or we're scared to talk about how we feel because we fear being judged. Understanding who we are and how to best build healthy relationships is hard. It's even harder when roadblocks like infertility, unexpected pregnancies, or other issues related to family relationships are present. I provide therapy for people of all genders who are processing challenges related to identity, managing change, relationships, infertility, pregnancy, and parenting. My compassionate and direct approach provides a space for you to feel safe and supported.
Do you struggle to say "no" to people? Do you feel guilty when you do? Do you feel pressure to make others happy while never getting what you need? Do you stay in bad relationships for too long? Do you feel stuck relationally, emotionally, or in your career path? There are explanations for this behavior and ways to change it. I love helping people learn how to have healthy boundaries with others, their work, or some other habit they are concerned about. If you want to understand yourself better and possibly learn to make healthier choices based on your values, I would love to work with you. Therapy is sometimes the first positive step that represents caring for yourself. It is an acknowledgement that you are worth the effort. I am an ally regardless of race, culture, physical ability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, immigration status, political affiliation, sexual orientation, or spiritual beliefs. Many people experience symptoms of anxiety and depression because they are currently OR have been in relation (family, friend, partner, co-worker, etc) to another person who has OR has had a substance or other behavioral problem. The negative effects can be long-lasting, confusing, and persist without treatment. If this is a familiar for you, call me.

I specialize in trauma therapy, with extensive experience supporting survivors of sexual violence and other traumatic experiences. If you’ve been through something overwhelming, it can feel like a fog has settled over you, affecting every part of your life. You might find yourself overthinking, being on edge, shutting down, or feeling numb, even when you want to feel present and connected. Many people I work with feel stuck in this space and are unsure how to move forward. Together, we’ll work to understand and process your emotions, thoughts, and past experiences so they no longer hold the same power over you. I use EMDR and other approaches to help you address what’s at the core of your symptoms. Feeling safe and understood is essential to this work. We’ll move at a pace that’s manageable for you, creating a space where you can show up as you are without pressure or judgment. While this is a vulnerable process, it’s also what allows for deep, lasting healing. Therapy can help you relate to yourself with more clarity and compassion, develop new patterns, and move toward the life you want to live. If you’re ready to feel more grounded, connected, and fully yourself—and to feel more in control of your life—I invite you to reach out. We’ll start with a conversation and see if working together feels like a good fit.
