The Jeong Center
School is supposed to be a chapter you're lucky to be in (the years people romanticize, the program you worked hard to get into, the path you chose for yourself), which can make it harder to say out loud when it doesn't feel that way. Whether it's anxiety that won't quit, a low-grade numbness you can't explain, pressure to perform that's become suffocating, or the unsettling sense that you're on a path someone else chose for you, these aren't things you should have to push through alone. They're worth understanding. I'm a Harvard-trained psychiatrist who does both medication management and in-depth psychotherapy. With me, you're not bouncing between a prescriber you see for fifteen minutes and a therapist who doesn't know what you're taking. I work with the whole picture. That means we talk. Really talk. About what's going on, what's underneath it, and what you actually want (not just what looks good on a transcript). Before medicine, I went to both law school and medical school (two of the longer and more punishing graduate trainings there are), so the strain of staying functional while something underneath isn't working is familiar to me from the inside, not from a textbook. My style is warm but direct. I'm not going to sit silently and wait for you to fill the space, and I'm not going to hand you a worksheet and call it therapy. I pay attention to what you need: sometimes that's a push, sometimes it's room to breathe, sometimes it's someone who will tell you the thing no one else has said yet. I'm also an Asian American psychiatrist with a background in law. I founded The Jeong Center around a Korean concept (jeong (ì •)) the deep bond that forms when two people share real time and presence together. I have particular experience working with anxiety, depression, panic, difficult relationship patterns, and unforgiving professional expectations. Offices in Brookline and Downtown Boston. Telehealth available. INSURANCE & FEES I'm an out-of-network physician, but most Boston-area student health insurance plans provide out-of-network benefits that can be used to cover some or even most of my fees. Reach out if you'd like help checking your benefits.

Michael Reed
I work with college students and young adults navigating anxiety, OCD, and questions of identity, including the impact of religious background and belief systems. Many of the students I work with are managing anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or periods of uncertainty about identity, direction, and relationships. Some are also in the process of questioning or stepping away from religious backgrounds, which can bring up guilt, fear, or confusion about how to move forward. I also work with OCD and anxiety, including intrusive thoughts, compulsive patterns, and persistent doubt. Many students are unsure whether what they’re experiencing is anxiety or OCD, and benefit from a clearer understanding of these patterns and how to respond to them. In addition, I support students navigating identity development, including gender and sexual identity, in a way that prioritizes clarity, communication, and maintaining meaningful relationships. With over 18 years of clinical experience, my approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and focused on helping students better understand how their mind works so they can respond to stress, uncertainty, and internal pressure more effectively. I offer telehealth sessions and am available to work with students seeking ongoing therapy or continuity of care beyond campus counseling services.

Next Play Therapy
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with extensive experience supporting adolescents, young adults, and families through both school-based and clinical counseling settings. For several years, I have worked as a school adjustment counselor, helping students navigate academic stress, social challenges, emotional regulation, and mental health concerns. This role has allowed me to work closely with students, families, educators, and support staff to create practical strategies that help young people succeed both in and outside of the classroom. In addition to my work in schools, I have clinical experience providing individual therapy in outpatient mental health settings, supporting clients with concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, and life transitions. My approach integrates evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused strategies, and strengths-based counseling. I also bring a unique perspective through my experience coaching high school athletics, where I have seen firsthand the pressures that young athletes face—balancing performance expectations, academics, identity development, and social dynamics. This experience has shaped my passion for helping athletes develop mental resilience, confidence, and healthy coping skills. At the same time, my practice is open to any individual seeking support, whether they are navigating stress, relationship challenges, emotional struggles, or major life transitions. My goal is to provide a supportive, practical, and collaborative therapeutic environment where clients can develop the tools they need to move forward with confidence.

I enjoy working with individuals of all ages, identities, and backgrounds, and I strive to create an affirming, culturally responsive environment where each person’s experiences and intersecting identities are respected. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotion regulation challenges, and I have experience providing neurodiversity-affirming care for ASD and ADHD clients.
