Your struggles are unique and complex. As a psychologist my aim is to help you explore your personal narratives, to understand how your past is affecting your present and keeping you from fulfilling your values. Whether you are experiencing difficulty with relationships, life events, healing from trauma, or simply don't find yourself enjoying your life as you once did, I will help you feel grounded while we gain a non-judgmental perspective on your struggles and put our minds together to strategize ways forward. I specialize in treatments for trauma, depression, anxiety, job stress, and relationship issues. I take a pragmatic and eclectic approach by integrating psychodynamic theories with evidence-based tools. I draw on treatments ranging from CBT, ACT, and CPT, tailoring treatment to your unique needs and experiences. I completed advanced training at Haverford College and the Dept. of Veteran Affairs Hospital where I continue to work as a trauma specialist. Immediate availability! I am a licensed psychologist who works with adults 18+ and couples, particularly around navigating stress and anxiety, building self-confidence, navigating life transitions, and relationships. My goal is to create a space where you can feel comfortable discussing challenging experiences and relationships, build resilience and coping skills, and develop your own individual identity. I hope to make this a collaborative experience in which we can engage in problem solving and exploration around all aspects of personal and professional development, while also sharing in some laughter. My approach is warm and conversational, yet direct. I use a combination of skills-based interventions with more traditional “talk” therapy as I believe therapy should be flexible and tailored to each individual. My goal is to support while also challenge you, all while using humor and your strengths to help you flourish!

I received my M.S. In Counseling from Villanova University and pursued doctoral studies at Immaculata University. In 1994 I became a licensed psychologist and opened my own private practice in Wayne, PA. I have been an adjunct professor at Chestnut Hill College in their graduate psychology department. I completed advanced studies in Jungian psychology at the C. G. Jung Institute in Philadelphia. In 1997 I became a certified Imago Relationship therapist where my goal was to assist couples in having more conscious, loving and intimate relationships. Central to my work is a powerful self-discovery tool … the Enneagram in which I received training in 2001. I use it extensively with clients as well as outside groups where I give presentations and teach classes on the Enneagram including volunteer teaching of the Enneagram at Montgomery County Correctional Facility. In 2014 I received my certification in coaching through the Coaches Training Institute. I since have developed a coaching practice to complement the work I do in the therapeutic and counseling areas. In addition, I also give presentations and talks for married couples, parent associations, support groups, and health and wellness audiences.
I use a humanistic, person-centered approach, utilizing a trauma-informed perspective. I strongly believe in the counselor-individual relationship, and feel a person's experiences influence their outlook and approach to the world. Through this approach, I feel individuals have the potential to grow if they have the support and environment to do so.
Hi there! Thank you for pausing here. Deciding to look for help was hard to begin with and finding the right helper seems even more difficult, I know. Whatever issues you are facing, perhaps its depression that is attached to your past, stress related to your present, or anxiety that is attaching itself to your future, I can help you work through it. It’s a privilege for me to be able to share lessons of hope and walk alongside my clients, until they have the breakthrough that they so desperately desire. My greatest joy is to see you step out from darkness into a brighter, lighter future – stronger, wiser, and hopeful! Life has not always been easy, so let's talk about it. There’s a Japanese practice of using liquid gold to fill in the cracks of broken pottery. Kintsugi, as it’s called, teaches that broken objects are not something to hide but to display with pride. I am here to help you fill the cracks and move on with your life. The one that is truly meant for you. - Talk soon, Gloria

Children, teenagers, and young adults are more overwhelmed today than ever. The daily challenges they face can be highly stressful and can lead to significant impairments in self-esteem, family relationships, school functioning, friendships, and other important areas of life. My ultimate goals as a therapist are to help young people find good life balance and develop a sense of peace within themselves. I enjoy providing a space where individuals and families can safely work through difficult situations, while learning to feel good about themselves, acquire problem-solving skills, maximize their natural strengths, and utilize the supports they have in their lives.

Transitions: An Athletic and Life Skills Program was developed in July 1999 because of the need to educate individuals across the life span of the strategies and skills used for successful transitions in life. Individuals already possess the skills that are needed. However, they may be unaware of their own strategies and/or their skills are not fully developed. Through my counseling services and the life skills program, needs of the individual are met by utilizing individual or group counseling sessions, couples, marriage or family counseling, workshops, speaking engagements and/or group/team building exercises with all being provided with personal attention. In 2007, the company name was changed to Transitions Counseling Service and Life Skills Program. Dr. Taunya Marie Tinsley a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) will work with youth, adolescents, young adults and adults. I work well with queer people who are having difficulty navigating their inner and/or outer worlds as well as students who are struggling with keeping it all together. People who are feeling overwhelming sadness and/or stress would also be a good fit.
Change can be hard, but I'm here to support you. My clients are often in transition, whether they're adapting to a new school or city, experiencing a change in relationships, coping with loss, managing a new health condition, coming out, or simply reflecting on their goals in a new light. If that resonates with you, I want to help you flourish. Depression, anxiety, impulse control issues, and traumatic stress make it harder to navigate change. I have experience serving clients who are working to overcome these mental health challenges. In our first session, we’ll talk about what brings you to counseling, your strengths, the things you value, and where you want your life to go. I aim for you to leave feeling hopeful. My style is genuine and straightforward - I want therapy to take the weight off your shoulders. Please give me a call or send me an email if you'd like to get started!
Hello and Welcome! My focus is in treating graduate students. I strive to create a safe, collaborative environment for the exploration of self and relationships, stress management strategies, multicultural issues, adjustment to the university environment, as well as the healing of past traumas and family of origin struggles. I have been in university counseling since 2004. I use a combination of psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral techniques, Internal Family Systems approaches, as well as mind-body stress reduction.
I believe that therapy is collaborative process between the client and the therapist which assists in resolving client's specific needs and concerns, and enriches the overall quality of the client's life beyond just problem solving. I truly enjoy working with young adults that are going through life's transitions, whether is be: moving away from home, attending college, exploring new relationships, managing stress and anxiety. I also can assist with depression and feeling overwhelmed, family conflict, self esteem, unresolved trauma, grief/loss, and management of daily life stressors.
