Therapists for college students near Pittsburgh, PA
Are You Looking For A Therapist Who Will Involve Your Entire Being, Mind, Body and Soul, in Your Healing Journey? There is a powerful connection between the body and the brain, and both the body and the brain rely on that connection to heal. With that, I utilize yoga practices to help guide you to integrate your mind and body. Unlike talk therapy, where we explore your thoughts and feelings on a topic or event, Yoga + Therapy encourages you to feel the body sensations that hold wisdom about that topic or event. Your body has an opinion, it's time to listen to it! I specialize in working with women and BIPOC - two groups I identify with and deeply care about. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and yoga teacher with specific training in trauma-informed practices. Yoga + Therapy strengthens the ability to be present in the mind, in the body, and ultimately, in life. If you are looking for traditional talk therapy only, I integrate meditation and mindfulness in sessions to help you further explore areas in your life. I am an Out of Network Provider (Self Pay/Private Pay). Please visit my website www.mindbodysoulcounseling.com to learn more about my practice and schedule a free 15 minute consultation call. I can't wait to work with you! There is a powerful connection between the body and the brain, and both the body and the brain rely on that connection to heal. I emphasize the importance of being comfortable in your own body. Yoga + Therapy strengthens the ability to be present in the mind, in the body, and ultimately, in life.

Welcome, I'm glad you're here. I tend to work best with clients who are experiencing adjustments to life stages, and/or those who identify with Borderline Personality Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and anxiety disorders. I am passionate about creating spaces, both in therapy and in communities, that can hold all parts of us, including the vulnerable and painful ones, and allow them to connect rather than isolate us. I work to empower clients to understand their thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, and reclaim their lives. Our individualized therapy sessions provide a safe space for healing and growth, guiding you toward lasting resilience and improved mental well-being. Whether you’re struggling with intrusive thoughts, overwhelming worry, or persistent sadness, my role is to guide you in uncovering and embracing these resources through a compassionate and supportive therapeutic relationship. I also work with couples, where I provide a safe and supportive environment so that partners can explore their feelings, improve communication, and navigate conflicts. With personalized strategies and evidence-based techniques, I’m here to help couples rediscover intimacy, build trust, and foster a deeper connection. Whether you’re facing a specific issue or seeking to enhance your relationship, I’m here to guide you on your journey to a healthier, happier partnership. Let’s work together to create the love and understanding you deserve. Whether you're interested in individual, couple's, or group therapy, I strive to create a compassionate healing environment built on trust, transparency and mutual respect, in which clients can reclaim their sense of power and agency as they reconnect with their inner strength. In our sessions, you can expect a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental environment where we explore your inner world and develop practical tools for emotional resilience. My approach is collaborative, and I aim to empower you to understand and embrace all parts of yourself, leading to a more balanced and fulfilling life. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Drexel University, and my Bachelor’s from the State University of New York at Oswego. I have formal training in Exposure Response Prevention, the gold standard of OCD treatment, but also heavily incorporate other modalities in my work and will always tailor our work to your needs. When not at work, I can often be found with friends at a local coffee shop, or home spending time with my partner and our two cats, Jack and Hendricks.
Every day life can be challenging and sometimes hard to navigate on our own. As your advocate and partner, I will actively support you as you learn to work through challenges more effectively, and improve your overall sense of well-being. I am passionate about my work as a therapist and I am deeply committed to helping people make positive changes in their lives. You deserve to be seen, heard, and given a space to authentically express yourself. In therapy, my goal is to provide a warm and safe environment for you to be able to feel comfortable and be your most authentic self. I hope to create a positive therapeutic relationship through honesty, open communication, empathy, and humor in session. Together, we will create individualized goals that utilize your strengths and build upon your skills.
Hi, I'm Emily, a Licensed Professional Counselor committed to guiding and supporting individuals through life's complexities. I specialize in working with a variety of mental health conditions, including eating disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors authentically. Whether you're navigating a life transition or seeking to overcome past wounds, know that you are not alone on this path. We will work together to help you create a life filled with connection, healing, and a renewed sense of purpose. If you feel we would be a good fit, I encourage you to reach out and look forward to hearing from you.
The transition from high school to whatever lies beyond it for you can be challenging. Suddenly, the whole world is in front of you and there is no set "map" for what is next. You can choose college, or a career. You can stay in your home town or move far away. You have increased opportunities to explore your own identity, make choices about romantic partnerships, and consider whether you'd like to start your own family some day. Your friends' lives are changing too; some will remain in your life and you'll grow apart from others. Your relationship with your family is also changing-- both in ways that feel helpful and ways that feel hard or sad. There are so many new decisions to make, people to meet, places to explore. For some young adults, these changes feel exciting. Others feel overwhelmed and even paralyzed, frozen, by all of these changes at once. Often, there are a mix of emotions present. As we adjust to the demands of a new job or a difficult college class, or living away from our families for the first time, we may notice increased stress or big emotions that feel difficult to manage. Times of transition can also stir up past wounds such as memories of difficult or traumatic events or tense relationships with loved ones. We may find ourselves experiencing increased symptoms of worry, intense sadness, decreased motivation, conflict with other people, or intrusive thoughts and memories that affect our ability to sleep or concentrate. Some of us may try to cope by using alcohol or other substances, and we may start to wonder if this is really as helpful as we once thought it was. Young adulthood can be so many things, both wonderful and challenging. Sometimes, therapy can be a helpful way to sort it all out or heal from difficult events that continue to make daily life difficult. I enjoy working with young adults as they navigate this unique season of life, and would be honored to walk alongside you in this work. I believe you are incredibly resilient, meaning you are capable of getting through hard things. My approach is to work as a team with you to identify the strengths you already have, discuss your goals, and determine which strategies might be most helpful to help you reach those goals. I also understand the importance of finding the right match when you are looking for a therapist. Feel free to visit my website to schedule a free 15 minute consultation and we can chat to see if we are a good fit. I accept multiple insurance plans, and can offer both in-person and telehealth therapy. www.quietudetherapy.com

In our initial sessions, I will encourage you to engage in activities that nurture your emotional, social, spiritual, and environmental well-being. I believe that you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences freely. My therapy style is rooted in rational thinking and empathetic listening. Reminding clients to recognize the power they hold in their own lives. I work collaboratively with my clients to increase self-worth and reframe faulty or problematic narratives and patterns. Creating an environment of safety and validation to support individuals in overcoming past and/or current obstacles and creating change in their lives. I'm also a big believer in nature being innately healing as well as it sometimes being easier to talk while outside or moving. So, I offer hiking or walking or sitting outdoors while conducting therapy. I like to work with anxiety, including OCD and social anxiety, depression, ADHD management, trauma, self esteem development, body image issues and communication skills. I often work with immigrants or children of immigrants and we work to overcome intergenerational trauma. We work to develop empathy and strength to create new paths.
